Planetary Geography

The planet was, before the Revolution, divided into seven kingdoms. To avoid dividing ethnic groups, world leaders on Tilhon have reconsituted the kingdoms into country-states, answering to the central democratic authority. Nonetheless, land borders remain the same. The information below introduces each of the states, referencing their history as kingdoms for a more complete picture of the demographics.

The Northern Alliance

The Northern Alliance was a group of three kingdoms which included: the Kingdom of Devi, the Kingdom of Govinda, and the Kingdom of Damodara; now Devi, Govinda, and Damodara, respectively.

Northern Alliance kingdoms tended to vote as one bloc in the House of Electors, although there were certainly deviations from this trend. When voting, these kingdoms tended to represent a more conservative viewpoint in the Legislature, seeking legislation which kept the Fielding League in power. Members representing the Northern Alliance in the Lower House of Parliament were also strongly royalist during the Revolution.

Manaria United

The Manaria United included two kingdoms before the revolution: the Kingdom of Manar, and the Kingdom of Rania; now Manar and Rania respectively.

The Manaria United's two kingdoms were exceedingly close for centuries, with their royal families intermarrying extensively.

Socially, the Manaria United kingdoms tended to represent technologically inclined viewpoints, seeking legislation which aided in the development of forward-looking prospects on the oceans and in space. The Manaria United kingdoms also tended to favor legislation which allows for free trade and commerce. Members representing the Manaria United in the Lower House of Parliament were fairly anti-royalist.

Kingdoms of Tanal & Bryque

The Kingdoms of Tanal and Bryque existed before the revolution and shared one continent on Tilhon. They are now referred to as simply Tanal and Bryque.

These two kingdoms were the smallest, but held great sway in the House of Electors, as they were moderate kingdoms, which tended to vote as a bloc -- thus creating a swing vote.
